European Synagogues - Venice Simchat Torah
- Here Simchat Torah is celebrated in the old Ghetto of Venice between the Levantine and the Spanish synagogues. Today the community of Venice uses mainly these two synagogues for their functions. The Spanish synagogue is used in summer and the Levantine synagogue in winter. So after Simchat Torah we take all the books and the scrolls and carry them to the Levantine synagogue, As we see here depicted by the artist. Pessach we celebrate again in the Spanish synagogue.
